Yes, expect the SCD choices/settings would propagate to the combo-boxes for
typeface selection. No more risk than trying to overload ICU libs with more
granular typeface selection based on a font's provided Unicode glyph coverage.
KISS suggests starting with the SCD's framework of positioning character chart
by Unicode block, and making that query enabled for typeface listing.
Once that listbox is populated in SCD propagate to the other typeface selection
combobox(s) across the UI.
