We discussed the topic in the design meeting.
Whether hiding is easy and flexible doesn't matter for calculations, hidden
content, and performance. The majority accepted the use case and welcomes an
option to set a hard limit for rows and cols.
Could be a radio button at Tools > Options > Calc > Defaults with
Spreadsheet Size:
(o) Standard (1M rows)
( ) Very Large Spreadsheets (16M rows)
( ) Limit Size
Rows: <1048576>
Columns: <16384>
(maximum for both)
The scrollbar issue should be handled in a different ticket.
