There is such a need. 

* I've given a (sketch of an) example above, of when you make changes tracked
changes to a document as two different personae.
* Even if you only plan to use one persona for a document - you should not be
forced to choose it _before_ creating the new document. That is, your typical
workflow would be creating a document, deciding at some point you want it
written as someone else, and changing the persona.

No, that would be super-annoying. The ask here is definitely for an on-the-fly
changes.
