Pulling out my crystal ball... the selection highlight color depends by default
on the system theme and, in contrast to alternative office tools, you can
customize it to your liking. Tools > Options > Appearance: Customization,
Accent color is what you are looking for. Works for you?

(Please write a few lines; use one of the many tools to translate your native
language, if needed. A plain image is serves well to illustrate your words but
text comes first.)
