The topic was on the agenda of the design meeting (after a long time, sorry for
the delay).

We basically had two different views on the topic:

* Apply changes immediately to the selected object and drop the preview (also
because the dialog is amodal and by that similar to Insert/Edit Hyperlink, for
example). Consequently, "Update" (actually does Reset) and "Assign" (actually
works as Apply) should be dropped. And since the changes would be applied
directly the preview becomes obsolete.

* Make the dialog modal, have a proper preview of the actual object (cube,
sphere, torus...), and "Apply" the changed via click. The "Update" is pointless
and should be removed.

A rearrangement respectively revamp of the dialog is needed or not, depending
on the workflow. We suggest to handle this part in a different ticket and I'll
restore the original summary.
