Uh oh :-) I haven't done anything other than install all those deps as
outlined in the wiki, and then put /usr/local/bin as first entry in my
path (because otherwise automake wouldn't play nicely with autoconf).

PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:/usr/local/mysql/bin$PATH
This was of course before both you and Norbert chipped in :-)

I haven't installed ccache yet. I remember I had it on my old Tiger
machine, but I don't recall it being such a hair-tearing experience :-()
