[Libreoffice] Is a mutex guard preferable?

Hi,

I just wonder if a mutex guard should protect the whole body of
SmGraphicAccessible::setCaretPosition() in starmath/source/accessibility.cxx
as attached.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.
