sorry, I am unable to find out the commit and the link point to nothing
for me. Is the ID the right one?

Just a remark: the fact of keeping the old / odd behaviour as default is
a risk that the new one get lost, since few will change to adapt /
correct to this one. (forgetting it...) Would it not be better to
activate the new state per default - maybe with a warning / delay ? So
where needed the code can use the old way, but the new one will be the
default, and then all people will take much more easily care of.
But I am not the wiser in the game, just here for fun.
