To be honest, I don't understand how these removals differ from <https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/274/>. I mean by removing commented code I might also introduce merge conflicts, or not?
Or is your comment only because I added braces in some parts to make the code more readable? If so, would it help to provide a second version (at the moment I am not sure how) with only removed code but nothing added?
