Pushed both to 3-6 with my sign-off.

BTW, I'm still debating whether to leave the variable names in the
algorithm as-is now (to be consistent with the spec), or rename them
to something more consistent with our code...  I would personally
prefer the latter.  Anyway, this is just a thought for the master
branch.
