Build of master fails somewhere in the end

	IMHO - we really need to hard-fail on this instead of having this minor
warning 'fatal:', that doesn't cause an abort :-) I had a poke in
Makefile.top but didn't manage to unwind how that works - is it a matter
of some testing & hackery of './g' ?
