[REVIEW 3-6] Fix autofilter crasher on OS X

Hi,

I'd like to have

backported to 3-6, and I would be willing to sign off.  The problem is 
that this is a Mac specific code, and I can't verify this.  Could 
someone with OS X please verify and cherry-pick to 3-6?
