Material Design for Impress Remote

I've created a large change in the source code of Impress Remote for
Android, to add Material Design to it (screenshot below). Most of the
things work at the moment, and I was wondering whether I could merge this
with the source once I make it fully functional. I have some experience
with Git, but I never used Gerrit before, and I don't really know how to
submit my changes to the source. Is this change viable, and should I keep
working on it? And if so, once I create something worth submitting, could
someone assist me on submitting it?
