And please be aware last year we had 80+ applicants and GSoC only gave us around 10 slots, so the election process was quite tough. One of the most important parameters in the election was (apart from judging the proposal as such) was to look at the work the student had done for LibreOffice before GSoC, so making gerrit patches is a real good thing.

In general the android version is not receiving a lot of attention, so there are plenty of work to be done.
