Regarding using Visual Studiom and bugs

This doesn't sound you will really happy here in future, b/c as JanIV mentioned,
we want to let Java die out in our code base and we have very rare pure Java tasks.

Maybe you also have a look at jenkins.io or gerritcodereview.com,
which are written in Java and helping out there would help us and other projects too.
Not sure about GSoC. You have to look yourself, if interested. :-)
