Just a heads up that lots of ISPs in small countries have very dodgy web-proxies which don't deal well with anything 
other than HEAD/GET/POST.
Often these proxies cannot be bypassed (they are so-called 'transparent' proxies), so you need a fairly robust fallback 
mechanism.
