cloning core failed. Any ideas.

Good to know. I will check if this still happens.
However as a solution you can switch to the official repository at: git://
gerrit.libreoffice.org/core.git
The anongit.freedesktop.org repo is a mirror that helps us reduce the load
on our main git server.
