I'm stuck at development page

Dear Members,

My name is anmol hira. I have started downloading the development
environment like visual studio, jdk, lode, etc. I have a problem at this
point. " Read the notes at the end of the setup. Add environment variables
into ~/.bashrc or ~/.bash_profile file. " under
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/lode . Please help to
proceed further.
