Cygwin build fails with /usr/bin/sh: line 1: /usr/bin/mkdir: Bad address

Might be an effect of bloated environment, before cleaning up
unnecessary exports there were a couple of wonky errors, but mostly
within make or when using xargs calls, don't remember whether I had a
problem with mkdir.
