Improving laptop touchpad scrolling

Hi,

I want to work on Bug 119745 - Scrolling with a laptop touchpad in
Libreoffice way too fast.

I'm new to LibreOffice development, got the code building locally on
Windows, and set up gerrit. Has any work been done on this bug? Any tips
for starting on it?
