Tickets/Topics

  * Reverse page switching direction when scrolling the mouse in
    the print dialog preview
    + https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165371
    + intuition for both, similar to spinedit is upwards more
      or, alternatively, pages are stacked and the next is below (Eyal)
    + different in my setup (Sahil)
    + prefer wheel down to scroll down towards the next page (Mihai)
    => do as requested

  * Data Provider: Rename "Apply" button to "Preview"
    + https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165679
    + good idea (Miguel)
    + if, at all, it should be "Update" (Heiko)
    + remove the button entirely and update automatically (Mihai, Sahil)
    + similar discussion recently in bug 165229 (Eyal)
    + if removal is not possible we could rename it to
      "Update Preview" (Mihai)
    => comment

  * On loading a CSV file, don't remember the From Row setting
    after application restart
    + https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165684
    + makes sense to remember user settings in general but
      some scenarios require the opposite; we could add a switch,
      eg. an icon-only button, to let users decide whether to store
      or rather apply the stored settings; this would have to be
      a pattern also relevant for other dialogs; suggest to place
      the option next to the frame label to not manage every single
      item (Heiko)
    + provide an option on the very top of the dialog to either
      use the detection and all manually remembered "named" settings;
      drop the automatic settings memory; only in case of the CSV
      dialog because of the detection feature (Eyal)
      + auto detection in bug 152336
    + add a reset button that allows to switch back to factory
      defaults (Sahil)
    + like the full memory personally yet never changed the row (Mihai)
    => comment on the ticket

  * UI: Add-animation requires adding before choosing the effect
    + https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145029
    + additional click... surprising, frustrating and not necessary;
      example by Powerpoint is better (Eyal)
    + adding animation with a category contradicts changing it (Heiko)
    + current solution makes sense to me (Mihai, Sahil, Heiko)
    + previous discussion about animation sidebar in
      https://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/2021/msg00102.html
    => resolve NAB/WF

  * Insert Row/Column buttons should allow for repeating last action
    + https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165616
    + plenty of alternatives (Regina, Miguel, Heiko)
    + disagree as it provides destructive commands too (Heiko)
    + support the request (Regina)
    + uno:Repeat not possible since the action is not consecutively;
      destructive action can be undone (Eyal)
    + expect toolbuttons to always work like combobutton rather than
      menubuttons; those buttons should always do the last action (Sahil)
    => comment

  * Need ability to control alignment of line numbering
    + https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165680
    + line numbers do not have a fixed width, so alignment within a certain
      width is not possible; relative to other line number occurrences
      is not supported in ODF; same way of aligning on other apps (Regina)
    + LN uses a character style "Line Numbering" that can be changed
      by the user but never provides alignment as it is not a
      paragraph style (Mihai)
    + numbering is always done with Latin numerals (Eyal)
    + not worth any effort (Heiko, Regina)
    + some users might need the enhancement (Mihai, Sahil)
    => comment and keep the ticket
