There is no relation between VA API and XvMC. It's just that I try to 
maintain patches in a way that would be accepted. So far, the proposed 
s/XvMC/VAAPI/ (and even VDPAU), for this specific debug message, failed...

A few lines below are more meaningful, e.g.:
VDec: vo config request - 1920 x 1080 (preferred colorspace: H.264 VA API Acceleration)
VO: [vaapi] 1920x1080 => 1920x1080 H.264 VA API Acceleration
