Hi!
We've experienced poor performance when displaying video using mplayer
with vaapi, when we have the display rotated to anything other that 0
degrees.
We've talked with the premier support at Intel and they say simply that
HW-accelleration is disabled in IEGD when the display is rotated.
It this the whole truth? From what we can see, video decoding still seems
accellerated, but video display otoh seems to use SW.
Another thing we notice is that when the performance is bad the CPU still
isn't maxed out, so where is the bottle neck?
Also, not only bad performance can be seen, but also increased tearing
artefacts.
Any ideas what we can do to improve performance? In landscape mode the
performance is really good. How can it be that a chip capable of OpenGL
acceleration and other features can't rotate the screen in HW?
Kind regards, Andreas Larsson
