[Libva] use libva on linux virtual machine

Is it possible to use libva on a ubuntu virtual machine in a Window 7 host?

I have windows 7 machine with Intel Core I7 CPU. I intend to use a Ubuntu VM to try out libva. Before I do that, I wonder if anyone has tried this and if it is feasible.
