[Libva] test/decode sample shows blank window

On my Linux Mint 17 laptop, I upgraded the X server and Intel video
driver, with no
change in the result. The Mint packages are usually the same as Ubuntu packages.

Perhaps it's relevant that the laptop has two video cards, a Radeon
and the Intel.
