2. Usually it have two type of input bitstream.
a) Annexb. Raw file and bitstream from network protocol have this.
b) avcC.contained file. such as .mp4 and .mkv.
We support both in yamidecode. Ffmpeg supports and only supports those two type. You mean you have video frame do not in those two types? Can you send the clip to me?
Ffmpeg have built in support for vaapi h264 decoder. It’s no need to callback to yami. The Reason we add ffmpeg to libyami adapter is we can enable other decoder in ffmpeg like vp8,vp9, hevc.

Found this typo in function DecodeOutputFileDump::config, file decodeoutput.cpp:
fourcc == guessFourcc(dest);

2. This integration seems to only use libAvFormat to get packets from a file and still uses the codecparser distributed as part of libyami to parse H264 packets. Isn't there another level of integration that uses ffmpeg parser and passes parsed bitstream data to the HW decoder via their HWAcel architecture (with callbacks)? The reason I am asking is because the parser from libyami does not seem to automatically distinguish different types of H264 packets, from file source, network source, missing start codes vs not, Appendix B headers etc. It seems to only handle file based. Has there been any work for vaapi integration with ffpeg via HWAccel?

Hi Guangxin and Haihao, Playing the video for 5 sec video and terminating and repeating this process with two different video files survived over the weekend, in UXA mode. So thats a good news. But I noticed the system became somewhat sluggish and hit the swap partition for memory even though 8GB of RAM is installed and the application barely uses memory. So I am not sure about the source of the leak, I made sure all cleanup happens as expected. I am doing a bit more investigation with valgrind.

I was testing with this all day yesterday, and was able to cause exactly similar crash by just starting and stopping the video files randomly and frequently from a single thread (similar automated looping test like before but but manually switching the files at random and frequently, with a UI button). Its a single thread where the actions happen sequentially, stop decoding and rendering, clean up the resources previously used.

libyami/libva kernel / xorg crash
Ubuntu 14.04.2 on Intel NUC, D54250WYK, version H13922-303, serial no: GEWY420019Z3
I have two decode / render session going in a sequence (libyami/libva), each stream lasts for only one second after it has opened, decoded upto one second of video and closes the file, moves over to next stream, does the same thing etc. This loop works fine on ION based system with VDPAU based decoding. The app lasted 12 hours and then had a kernel Oops. Any idea?

Please follow the readme in the patch to apply and build the example palyer.
1. setup env for ffmpeg build: "source build-ffmpeg.env"
2. build ffmpeg (with yami patches): "make ffmpeg"
by default, ffmpeg is installed to /opt/ffmpeg
3. build the example player: "make player"
I have tried "player -I Geldkoffer.mp4 -m 1", the file can be played well.
