Without ConsoleKit support LightDM would be de-facto Linux-only.
I know of a recent effort to get it into FreeBSD ports [1] and
there seems to be some initiative in pkgsrc as well[2] though I
don't know the status of that. A while ago Brian Cameron seems to
have evaluated it for use in Solaris resulting in [3] but I don't
think it ever worked and I'm not aware of any efforts of
Illumos-based distributions interested in porting it. I don't
speak for any of them, just pointing out something to be aware
of.
