[LightDM] Can LightDM work with an existing X server socket?

It appears that there is not a method to provide the authority file for a
remote X server - could you file a feature request for this on
https://launchpad.net/lightdm?

As a workaround you could make session wrapper by setting:
[SeatDefaults]
session-wrapper=/path/to/wrapper

And set it to something like:
export XAUTHORITY=/path/to/xauthority
exec $@
