[LightDM] Login as root with LightDM in Gentoo/Gnome

Good day!

I have several of my machines working with LightDM and the latest Gentoo and Gnome versions.
However, the only issue I am having right now is that I am unable to boot as root into any of them, having to switch terminal with Ctrl+Alt+FX and then using startx from there to boot into the root account.
I do use the root GUI quite often to manage a lot of things for all the users.

The problem is that whenever I try to login as root with LightDM, the user and password boxes simply get grayed-out, and I have to click Cancel in order to choose another user.

So my question is, is there a way so that LightDM detects the root user to be able to login with it?
It would be of great help for my work.

Thanks in advance!
