I don't know for others, but I'm used to build mesa 32 bit on Arch 64 without
any efforts. From time to time, yes, problems arise, but mostly they get fixed
when someone take care to look at them. A couple of months ago, I was doing the
same thing under Ubuntu 64. So, in my point of view, things are not that bad
when we work together. I just need to specify some installation paths. At some
point, I had to specify some C and C++ flags, but not anymore (well, not since
this bug report).

By the way, bug 41700 should be closed if the patch proposed in comment 1 is
true.
