Long story, short answer: recompile xf86-video-intel without glamor support.

If you are on openSUSE, try the driver from
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/StefanBruens:/branches:/X11:/XOrg/

You will also need the rest of xorg/mesa, which is located at:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/
