Here is the results of quick search:
Debian stable     2.1.9
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS  2.0.89
Fedora 19         2.1.13
openSUSE 12.3     2.1.9
RHEL 5            1.33.4

So this patch will not work on rhel 5.
