Regarding your request for info about my system, X server etc:

I have tested my application with over 40 GPUs, and 7 host systems. The full
matrix is just a distraction.

In good news the radeon r300 driver finally actually sends the buffer_swap
events. It previously reported that it supported the extension, but never
generated the events, leaving the app hanging.
