AFAIK all drivers handle gpu lockups except for nouveau. I have
successfully brought my geforce gpu back to normal using a s2r cycle
although your experience may vary.
Considering that you're working on opencl I would imagine that you're
working on amd/ati hardware the driver for which should attempt a GPU
reset. Doing the s2ram trick might help as well.
