I'm not sure if mesa is ready for LTO yet.

The main obstacle being "Fix debug information for LTO programs" [1] the second
one is that some symbols get stripped too early as you've noticed :)

Any patches would be appreciated, but personally I won't pursue LTO until the
debug info is sorted out.
