That should only be an issue if the conversion from Gallium format to
Mesa format is done incorrectly. That's certainly possible though, see
e.g.
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/mesa-dev/2015-August/091284.html
for an example of an incorrect conversion.

Another possibility is that it's the wrong Gallium format in the first
place, i.e. it doesn't accurately describe how the pixel data is stored
in memory Or conversely, that the llvmpipe driver doesn't store the
pixel data according to the format.
