Very good point, although I believe this limitation already exists
with /etc/dri.
Currently if the system one has a workaround thwy cannot disable it,
without 1) obtaining write access for /etc/dri and 2) changing the
file by hand, can they ?

Obviously that ought to be fixed as well at some point.
