Mhm, I've tried with mpv and that is clearly using P010. I had to fix 
two bugs in the backend driver to avoid crashes when decoding to P010/P016.

So it clearly uses P016 at least for mpv. What command do you use to get 
this output?

Ah, yes that makes sense. Any objections merging that into my original
