Right, I must have misread 512c046eddc16bec9c309a3c7b4205d94ffc4ef3. Was under
the impression that 'old' versions are purged only as we hit the size limit.
Maybe it's worth exploring, maybe not.

Another alternative is to "disable" disk caching all together for anyone but
the dri module(s).
