The only answer to that question would be in the form of C/C++ code.
A new "atomsymbol" branch in mesa-git could be created.
The code could be reviewed from there, using whatever tool the reviewer prefers
to do so.
The code in the branch could be merged into mesa-git-master at any point in
time you prefer.</pre>
