What's the output of $LD_DEBUG=libs nwn The above can be a bit large so please attach as plain text. Or maybe it's this nasty LD_PRELOAD [1] which overrides open/opendir/stat/etc. in a slightly brain-dead manner. I'm sure that mangling _every_ path is a good _not_ a idea.
