A single-threaded reproducer
I think I came up with a single-threaded program reproducing the bug. More
details in inline comments.
When changing the copy of __glXSendError() from using dpy->request to
dpy->last_request_read (and compiling with -DNDEBUG so that the inline
asserts() do not trigger), the problem goes away. So, I think the analysis from
my previous comment is correct.</pre>
