I asked Emil about this off-list.  There's been a request to back-port a 
couple OSMesa changes to the 11.1 branch:

As Emil pointed out, we generally don't port features to the stable 
branch, only bug fixes.  I generally agree with that, but I'm also 
interested in helping end-users whenever possible.

The patches in question are:
   a34e7612dcde891121e355e78c058f138a34c31c
   f992d02ba2c7b1880ae1ce9ed9a1a24cb16239f4
They only touch the src/mesa/drivers/osmesa/, 
src/gallium/state_trackers/osmesa/ and docs/ directories and 
include/GL/OSMesa.h

Does anyone have a strong opinion about porting these to the 11.1 branch?
