Matthew, i'm running ivy bridge using the i915 driver.

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v2/3rd
Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA
controller])
        Kernel driver in use: i915

lspci -v will probaby show i915 in your case.

I run a 3.5.7 kernel with xf86-video-intel-2.20.13, mesa 9.0 and i get this
with glxinfo:
OpenGL vendor string: Intel Open Source Technology Center
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Ivybridge Desktop
OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 9.0
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30

OpenGL 3.0 is a nice improvement, try upgrading the intel driver?

BR,
Slavko
