[Mesa-users] some confusion about graphics drivers

I am really confused about various linux graphics drivers.

linux kernel source code contains graphics driver, input device driver
mesa source codecontains grahics driver.
X server contains graphics driver, input device driver.  xf86-** stuff.

could  any one explains what the drivers (both graphics and input drivers)
do, how they interact ?
