I have position open for a postdoctoral fellow in computational (stellar) astrophysics in my group in Amsterdam.   Application deadline has been extended until February 8.

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship in computational (stellar) astrophysics at the University of Amsterdam within the BinCosmos program with Dr. S. E. de Mink.   

The BinCosmos group is young, dynamic and quickly growing research group (currently 3 PhD students, 2 MSc and 2 BSc students). The group members focus on various aspects of of the evolution of massive binary stars, including their final explosions and afterlife as compact objects.   Research themes include both the details of the complex physical processes that govern their evolution as well as the wide large scale implications of binarity for a variety astrophysical problems.  These range from the role they play on cosmological scale in feedback and reionization as well as their final explosions and the (double) compact objects they leave behind.

The position is for three years (contingent upon satisfactory progress and funding) starting  fall 2016. Earlier/later dates can be negotiated.   The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities is applicable.
