Just checked that patch, and actually found an error in the previous
one which was commited.

So, with your previous patch,  the GPS port gets opened once all
commands have been sent. But then, the GPS port is not closed (in
gps_disabled_ready()). I already fixed that it git master.

I'll review your patch directly in the patch email.
