This is the issue; the modem does not have any firmware loaded.  You
need to run "gobi_loader" to load the firmware that the modem will use.
Otherwise, it's not really a modem.  I've often had problems with
mismatched Gobi firmware, so make sure you get the firmware from the
Windows install for that machine or card.

Once the firmware is loaded, the card will provide two ttyUSBx devices,
a network port, and a "cdc-wdm" port.  The network port and the cdc-wdm
port are the pieces that ModemManager requires to correctly drive the
modem.
