nothing has changed. (no firmware update, no kernel bug found)

Maybe you have a chance to force the modem to use ppp-mode.

I am not very happy with this device. I doesn't work under linux in the 
way it does under windows.

It also lacks of IPv6-support.

But be careful when looking for hints in the web. The HILINK-Version of 
E3372 is very similar, but completely different in behavior.
