It looks like ModemManager (well, really libmbim) is able to spawn mbim-proxy OK, otherwise we'd see "error spawning mbim-proxy:" debug messages. But apparently it's unable to communicate with it?
What happens after this ModemManager error if in another terminal you
run:
mbimcli -p -d /dev/cdc/wdm0 --query-device-caps
Do you get a response from mbimcli?
